GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS
DAVINCI FLOW CONTROL VALVES are hydraulically operated control valves developed to maintain a preset and substantially constant flow rate, regardless of variations in upstream pressure or downstream demand. By automatically adjusting the opening of the main valve, they prevent the flow from exceeding the selected value and ensure a controlled supply throughout the installation.
This regulating capability offers important operational advantages in networks where uncontrolled flow could cause pipeline overload, excessive consumption, pressure instability, pump inefficiency, or damage to downstream equipment. The valve continuously responds to changing hydraulic conditions, helping optimize water distribution and improve overall system performance without requiring external power.
The valves are available in sizes from DN50 to DN800 mm and feature a high-strength ductile iron body designed for durability and resistance under demanding service conditions. All iron components receive a fusion-bonded epoxy coating, providing effective protection against corrosion and extending the operating life of the valve in water applications.
A top- and seat-ring-guided stem and diaphragm assembly provides accurate movement, mechanical stability, and reliable performance over repeated operating cycles. The nylon-reinforced diaphragm ensures long-term flexibility and resistance, while the stainless steel seat and disc-retainer ring offer excellent corrosion protection and durable sealing. When the system requires complete closure, the valve provides drip-tight shut-off to prevent unwanted water passage.
Its globe-pattern body design delivers smooth modulation and precise regulation over a wide range of flow and pressure conditions. The hydraulic pilot circuit automatically positions the valve according to system demand, ensuring that the maximum permitted flow remains controlled even when the inlet pressure increases or downstream consumption changes.
The construction of the valve allows convenient access to its internal components. Routine inspection and maintenance can be performed without removing the valve from the main pipeline, reducing service interruptions, labour requirements, and operating costs.
DAVINCI FLOW CONTROL VALVES are suitable for municipal water distribution systems, irrigation networks, pumping stations, water treatment plants, industrial processes, mining operations, HVAC and cooling installations, reservoir supply lines, and fire protection networks. They are especially effective for balancing distribution zones, limiting consumption, controlling reservoir filling, regulating pump discharge, and protecting pipelines or equipment from excessive flow rates.
Manufacture and performance comply with EN 1074-5, with design and testing carried out in accordance with relevant standards including BS EN 1074-5, ISO 5208, BS EN 12266-1, and BS EN 558-1. Flanged connections are available in PN10, PN16, PN25, and ANSI Class 150, while face-to-face dimensions conform to EN 558-1, Series 1.
Designed for water service, the valve is suitable for pressure ratings of 1.0 MPa, 1.6 MPa, and 2.5 MPa, with an operating temperature range from −10 °C to 80 °C. Pressure testing is performed according to EN 12266-1, Leakage Rate A, including a body test pressure of 1.5 × PN and a seat test pressure of 1.1 × PN. Compliance with the EU Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU applies according to valve size and product classification.
A wide range of pilots, filters, pressure gauges, isolation valves, and control accessories is available to suit different operating requirements. Optional V-Port trim can provide enhanced regulation under low-flow conditions, while a double-chamber configuration is available for specialized hydraulic applications.
